Our Own Communists Can Cripple Us
10 Our Own Communists Can Cripple Us
Good Reading Rack Service 1951 Softcover Very Good with no dust jacket; Rear cover soiled.
A vintage pamphlet warning of the communist peril at the height of the Cold War reprinted from the Feb. 1951 issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine by the Good Reading Rack Service. This New York City publisher produced booklets designed to be offered by large companies for free distribution to their employees in cafeterias and break rooms, and cover a variety of topics, though the ones concerning social issues and government policy carry a conservative, pro-business slant. This booklet has a great 50's graphic cover and is ten pages long. The booklet exhorts readers not to sign petitions or join groups. One must always be on alert for saboteurs and having emergency supplies on hand in case of Communist attack and the author does a lot of fear-mongering: "It has been a good many years, and several generations, since a man and his wife have had to know how to use a rifle and have had to keep it handy day and night. But the fanatical and disciplined communist is a greater threat today than the hostile Indian was 200 years ago." An interesting Cold War-era relic. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
