The editor transcribed and published his father's letters and other notes from his days as a British ship captain in the late 1800s. This second edition also contains the editor's own youthful memories from sailing with on his dad's barque, "The Wilhem Tell", on several voyages around Cape Horn. Many photos and illustrations, glossary of nautical terms. Inscribed by the author on the half-title.
