"The hero meets the girl with the blue sailor on his way to the Catskills for a rest. During the whole of his vacation a flirtation is carried on between them. He is sent by the newspaper on which he works to South Africa to report for the Boer army. When he returns there is a surprise in store for the reader as well as for some of the characters in the story" (from publisher's blurb) . Forest green cloth binding with light green and sage green illustration of oak leaf and acorns stamped on front boards. Many black and white illustrations by "W D" and vignettes, decorative endpapers and decorations at margins of each page of text by unknown book designer. Musty, boards rubbed and rounded, white lettering stamped on front boards and spine rubbed away, owner name on front flyleaf. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
