These two volumes comprise the text of lectures given by the author on the evidences of Christianity as the first in a series of public lectures in Boston funded by a bequest of the late industrialist, world traveler and philanthropist John Lowell Jr. The first lecture provides a biographical account of Mr. Lowell's life and travels. 811 pages in total. Boards heavily worn at corners and backstrip and repaired with a heavy hand and black cloth tape. Front hinge of volume two reinforced with cloth tape. Owner name on front free endpapers.
